Sarena joined Publica as an Urban Designer in 2024 and works across a range of public realm, landscape and urban design projects. Her work spans design development, spatial modelling cultural strategy.

She has contributed to several key projects including lighting, wayfinding, and frontages improvements for TfL Haggerston Arches, the Marble Arch transformation, and the public realm and cultural placemaking strategy for Custom House.

Alongside her project work, Sarena leads a number of outreach initiatives. She leads Publica’s work experience programme for A-level students and has volunteered with Open City’s Young City Makers programme on behalf of the practice.

Sarena completed her RIBA Part III at the Architectural Association in 2026 and holds a Master of Architecture from the London School of Architecture. Her thesis project, A Public Convenience, explored the relationship between people and ‘dirty water’ in the city, proposing new approaches to accessible sanitation in London and challenging how accessible cities can be without adequate public conveniences. Sarena previously completed her RIBA Part I at the University of Nottingham.
