Anna Mansfield has over 20 years of professional experience and has held a senior position at Publica since its establishment. She is responsible for overseeing the practice’s research, policy, masterplanning and infrastructure projects, as well as shaping the strategic direction of its work and research.

Anna has extensive experience developing major area strategies for complex urban sites with multiple stakeholder interests, both in London and internationally. This includes her leadership of the large-scale strategy for the future of the Oxford Street District. Her long-standing involvement in this area has enabled her to oversee Publica’s work supporting the Mayor of London’s ambitions for the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street.

Her research expertise spans areas such as child-friendly cities, the evening and night-time economy, infrastructure planning, and community facilities. She has recently led a major research project for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, delivering the Community Facilities Needs Assessment for the Infrastructure Planning team and the Evening and Night Time Strategy for Coventry.

Anna has provided strategic advice on design and integrated masterplanning to a wide range of public and private sector clients, including the Greater London Authority, Transport for London, Westminster City Council, British Land, Land Securities, Capital & Counties Properties Plc, Great Portland Estates Plc, Helical Plc, Northbank BID, and community groups including Queen’s Park Community Council.

Anna was an inaugural member of the Mayor of London’s Infrastructure Advisory Panel (IAP) and serves as Chair and panel member for design review panels in the London Boroughs of Bromley, Havering, and Redbridge and is a member of NLA’s Evening and Night Time Economy Group. She is an external examiner in urban design at Cardiff University and speaks widely across academic and professional forums.
