Bernal joined Publica as an Urban Designer in 2026, where he works across public realm, landscape, and urban design projects.

Bernal holds a master’s degree in Research Architecture from the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London. His research explored water politics in the context of extreme drought in central Mexico by using situated and remote sensing methodologies.

Previously, he worked at ORU – Oficina de Resiliencia Urbana, a Mexico City-based design practice with an applied-research approach to landscape infrastructures and urban design.

Beyond design, Bernal develops GranRoca — an educational and artistic platform for critical studies of landscape.
