Publica’s Community Interest Company is delighted to announce the appointment of three new members to its board, Binki Taylor, Eve Holt and Elizabeth Rapoport, to join founding director Lucy Musgrave in supporting Publica’s campaign for inclusive and collaborative city-making processes. These exceptional leaders in the built environment sector bring a wealth of interdisciplinary expertise and experience, covering community engagement and organising, city leadership and urban strategies, academic research, private sector development expertise, as well as local and national policy-making experience.

Publica CIC makes transformation to inclusive cities practical by providing access to knowledge and expertise, convening spaces for reimagination and delivering inclusive public realm projects. The board’s combined track record in delivering change in communities on the ground will offer unique guidance and direction to Publica CIC as it builds its campaign for inclusive cities where all people can participate freely and fully in urban change.

Binki Taylor is an experienced coach-mentor, creative producer and community activator. Commissioner for the Mayor of London’s Diversity in the Public Realm, curator for the London Festival of Architecture 2023 and partner of The Brixton Project, formerly The Brixton Design Trail, she advocates for fusing the skills, knowledge, culture and heritage of local people into future community development.

About Eve Holt, board member Publica CIC

Eve is Strategic Director of Greater Manchester Moving, a movement for movement working together to positively change the lives of people across Greater Manchester through movement, physical activity, and sport. The organisation is focused on dismantling the barriers people face to movement and sport and enabling Active Lives for All. She is a Councillor on Manchester City Council, and GM4Women2028 Trustee. She is passionate about people, participation, place and policy, whole system approaches and creating the conditions for healthy, happy, active lives for all.

About Elizabeth Rapoport, board member Publica CIC
Dr Elizabeth Rapoport is an urbanist with over 20 years of experience working across sectors and disciplines to tackle big picture and strategic challenges related to the built environment. She is the Director of Polygon Place Strategy, which she set up to support organisations working in the built environment industry to bridge the gap between strategy and implementation. Previously she was Assistant Director for Strategy at Homes England, and Director of Research and Advisory Services for the Urban Land Institute Europe. She has a doctorate in Urban Sustainability and Resilience from University College London, a Masters in City and Regional Planning from the London School of Economics and has authored numerous reports, articles and a book on city leadership. Elizabeth is also a Non-Executive Director for the Graven Hill Village Development Company, a fellow with Zinc Ventures Builder, a mum of three and a keen swimmer.
