Raja Moussaoui

Head of Communications

Raja Moussaoui is focused on communications and advocacy work at Publica, working to shape strategies that engage a wide range of audiences in the complex issues that surround urban change. Raja works collaboratively with Publica’s urban designers and researchers on projects such as the launch of A Future for the Oxford Street District study, the production of events for the Museum of London, and the curation of Publica’s exhibition at the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2017. Both at Publica and in her previous roles, Raja has led campaigns, curated exhibitions, designed websites and developed thought-leadership content on design and urban growth.

Trained as an architect and journalist, Raja has practised architecture in London, Toronto, Shanghai, Melbourne and Vancouver. She was granted a Global Journalism Fellowship from the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto to deepen the public understanding of architecture and city building. Raja has reported on the design of public space and cultural buildings, social housing, infrastructure and development policy for publications that include the Guardian Cities, CityLab, the Norwegian Architecture Review, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and the Dallas Morning News. She holds a Masters of Architecture from the University of Waterloo.

With the support of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the Canada Council for the Arts, Raja co-created a video series and online publication called In-Context that investigates the social and cultural impacts of recent architecture projects across Canada. In-Context screened at the 2015 Toronto Design Offsite Festival and the 2015 London Festival of Architecture.
