Pawda Tjoa


Pawda is a researcher at Publica. She has worked across several strategies and wider area surveys for major landowners, developers and most recently a project for client, British Land. 

Pawda trained in architecture at Pennsylvania State University in the US, where she was a Schreyer Scholar. She subsequently completed an MPhil in Urban Research at the University of Cambridge, and most recently she completed a PhD which explored the relationship between public space and political ideology in post-independence Jakarta. 

In 2012 and 2013, she was a visiting researcher and invited speaker at the University of Indonesia in Jakarta, and she previously taught design and theory at Penn State University, the University of Cambridge and the University of Tarumanagara in Jakarta.

Pawda regularly presents her work at international academic conferences and is currently working on several academic publications.
