Pauline Nee

Strategy and Policy

Pauline Nee spent many years as head of Southwark’s Building Design Service. Under her leadership, the borough became a key proponent of public sector design and was awarded the RIBA/CABE London Local Authority of the Year Award. She subsequently worked at John Macaslan and Partners, where she led the practice’s Historic Building Unit. Most recently, Pauline has worked in close collaboration with David Bonnett Associates, helping to progress the role and agenda of inclusive design practice, an interest she developed during her time at the London Borough of Islington, where in the early 1990′s, she spearheaded accessibility policy.

Pauline studied Building Conservation at the Architectural Association. She is currently a member of Islington’s Design Panel, teaches students from New York University and gives an annual lecture on historic buildings at the Bartlett, UCL.
