Lucy Musgrave appointed to NIC Expert Advisory Group

Lucy Musgrave has been appointed as a member of the Technical Panel of the National Infrastructure Commission’s newly-formed Expert Advisory Groups.

The Expert Advisory Groups consist of two panels, Technical and Analytical, with the panel members for both groups consisting of industry experts and leading thinkers from across industry, business and academia. The panels will act as a sounding board for the Commission’s emerging thinking and methodologies and provide the NIC with a range of different perspectives and experiences on its work. Panel members will also be required to add additional level of scrutiny to Commission’s documents prior to publication, and to advise on the quality, limitations, and appropriate uses of the research carried out by - or on behalf of - the Commission, as well as specific issues and problems when necessary. The panel members will also help the NIC to establish and maintain relationships with other experts and stakeholders, where appropriate.

Lucy’s appointment to the panel follows Publica’s recent invitation to present analysis to the Commission, exploring infrastructure’s leading role in urban development. The NIC is beginning its next phase of the UK’s first ever National Infrastructure Assessment (NIA), and the formation of the NIC’s expert advisory groups was announced alongside the launch of a 15 week call for evidence – inviting the submission of ideas and solutions to shape the development of the NIA.
