Exhibition of Proposals for Marylebone Lane

Exhibition of Proposals for Marylebone Lane

An exhibition of Publica’s proposals for improvements to Marylebone Lane took place on the 13th and 14th March on Marylebone High Street. Over the past six months Publica has been working closely with The Howard de Walden Estate to develop plans to enhance Marylebone Lane and create a better gateway into the Marylebone area from Oxford Street and St Christopher’s Place. The proposals subtly embrace the Lane’s historic prominence as a route running parallel to the Tyburn River, and focus on creating a better quality and more attractive pedestrian environment. Proposals include changes to pavement lines, resurfacing and landscaping options, and ongoing strategies for lighting, greenery, signage and awnings. The exhibition was extremely well received by Marylebone locals, with users and occupiers overwhelmingly positive in their comments to Westminster City Council and The Howard de Walden Estate.
